This is the very first South African Photo Story of which a series
would be made. The photo depicts the front cover of issue no 1 of
"Kyk", published in 1960. A few months later, its English counterpart
"See" would follow.
It would be a full five
years later before the next photo story, and also the first series
featuring a titular character, would follow, being "Mark Condor" in
1965. He was followed by "Dr Conrad Brand" and then "Ruiter in Swart"
in 1966.
